This memory starts with a break between classes and Riley interogating her dad about why he gave Lucas, along with a girl named Missy, detention. He says he's 'mad with power' when she says Lucas didn't do anything. So, after a moment, she states she wants detention, too. Cory scoffs because she's never had detention in her life. Riley then calls Maya in who jumps on his back and the mess with Cory a moment to earn detention.

Riley makes cute namecards for her friends and a lazy Missy one. Missy and Lucas come in for detention and Missy determines she will sit next to Lucas anyway. Meanwhile, Lucas just looks really amused about all of this. Cory starts teaching about Pearl Harbor and Farkle walks in. Despite being told that he didn't belong there, he decides to stay there with his friends.

Detention continues with Lucas asking Riley if she and the others would like to go to the movies with him and Missy. When Missy interrupts to say that he was the only one invited, Lucas kind of smiles amused and says he can't go, then. He essentially says that he only wants to do things with his friends and that back there in seventh grade that was more fun for them. Riley agrees with them and Missy leaves telling them to grow up. Riley says they won't just yet-- WHICH IS KIND OF IMPORTANT. Friends are more importaaaant. Yeah.

Cory ends detention and the kids stay there to hang out.
Riley: How could you do that, DAD?
Cory: What did I do?
Riley: You gave them detention together?
Cory: I was the cafeteria moniter. I saw potatoes where they potatoes aren't supposed to be. Detention him, detention her.
Riley: But Lucas didn't even do anything?
Cory: Don't care. I'm mad with power.
Riley: ...Then, I want detention too.
Cory: You do? Riley, you've never had detention a day before in your life. What could you possibly do that will get detention on such short notice?
Riley: I'd like to introduce you to my guest star.
Cory: Uh-oh.
Maya enters the classroom and jumps on his back bringing him to the ground. --Maya: Nothing personal, bub.-- Riley flips her finger across his lips.
Cory: ...Yeah, that'll do it. *turns to Maya* Nice job.
Maya: Pleasure doing business with you.

Classes end and Riley has been Riley and made nice, pretty nametags for her, Maya, and Lucas. Meanwhile she just lazily writes one out for a girl named "Missy". She then puts the three friends' names together and puts Missy's at the back of the room before detention begins.

Missy and Lucas walk into detention and she stops when she sees Riley.

Riley: *Smuuuugly* How ya doin'?
Missy: What are you doing here?
Riley: Oh, I'm a bad girl.
Lucas looks amused, as does Maya.
Maya: Yeah, you don't wanna mess with this one.
Missy: *picks up a namecard: What is this? Placecards?
Riley: Yep. I made them. You sit over there.
Missy goes to sit next to Lucas instead.
Missy: I think this seat has my name on it, actually.

Cory: Alright, guys. I like my detention to have a little bit of learnin' in it. So I'd like to continue talking about Pearl Harbor and what happened after the Sneak Attack. The world was at war and alliances were forged in battle--.
Riley takes notes, Missy tries to trade flirtatious glances with Lucas. Maya and Riley share a look.
--And were made stronger because of that.
Farkle walks through the hallway trying to go somewhere, but stops when he sees his friends and turns in.
Farkle: What is this place?
Cory: It's detention, Farkle. It's not for you.
Farkle moves to take a seat.
Farkle: If my friends are here it's for me.
Cory: During this war the United States was put through one of its greatest tests. One that made a threat to our way of life---
Lucas eyes his friends instead of Missy and is kind of nodding coyly, but Riley wouldn't notice since she's taking notes. Like a good egg.
--But we prevailed.
Lucas: Hey, Riley. Missy invited me to see a movie with her.
Missy: I think she's aware of that, Lucas. No need to make her feel worse.
Lucas: And I was wondering if maybe you guys would like to come with us.
Maya, Riley, and Farkle share a look. :) What sly children.
Riley: You want us?
Missy: Hey. Uh. *And then fakely* I'm sorry, Lucas. That wasn't the invitation.
Lucas looks amused and then turns to Riley before speaking: Ooooh. Well, then. Sorry, Missy. Then I can't go.
Missy: What are you talking about? No one's ever said no to me. In my life.
Lucas: Well, see, these are my friends. And I don't like doing anything without my friends. Right, Riley?
Riley: Yeah, right.
Lucas turns to Missy: Now, I certainly appreciate you wanting me to take care of you during a scary movie. And showing me your leg and all... but back here in seventh grade, I think maybe we have more fun just hanging out together.
Missy looks annoyed and everyone kind of just grins at her while Maya does a mocking 'boop' at her. She finally gets up to leave and then pauses in the door way.
Missy: Grow up.
Riley: Not... yet.
Cory: Oh. She's leaving? Okay.
Riley turns to Lucas: Hey.
Lucas: Hey.
Riley: You know what the easiest thing about having friends is?
Lucas: What?
Riley: Sometimes, all you have to do is trust them.
Cory: When peace time came the United States entered an era of growth and prosperity and happiness. Detention over... You guys coming?
Riley: ...No, we're good right here.
